Ciavolich
Abruzzo, Italy
Ciavolich is a historic, family-run estate in Abruzzo with roots dating back to the 16th century, when the family arrived from Bulgaria and established vineyards in Miglianico. Today, under the guidance of Chiara Ciavolich, the estate is based in Loreto Aprutino, where it cultivates around 35 hectares of sustainably farmed vines on clay-loam soils at the foot of the Gran Sasso mountains. Specializing in native varieties like Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino, Trebbiano, and Cococciola, Ciavolich produces wines that combine tradition with innovation—fermenting and aging in stainless steel, oak, concrete, and amphorae to highlight purity, texture, and a strong sense of place. The wines are known for their clarity, freshness, and expressive character, capturing the soul of Abruzzo through a blend of heritage and contemporary vision.
